MONROE - Area girls track athletes set five meet records in the Richard Glendenning Invitational Monday.
Monroe sophomore Jordan Hirsbrunner won the 300 intermediate hurdles in a meet record time of 47.25 seconds. Hirsbrunner also won the high jump after clearing a meet record 5 feet, 5 inches. Monroe senior Georgie Meyers took second (4-10).
Albany freshman Emma Guenther won the 3,200 run with a meet record time of 12:38.18, which was about six seconds ahead of Monroe sophomore Ciara Kaderly who took second (12:44.75). Darlington's Erin Wolf took third in the 3,200 (13:21.9).
Monroe junior Abby Oudinot won the 100 (13.20) and the triple jump in a meet-record 35-0. Monroe sophomore Josie Eberle was second in the 100 (13.72).
Monroe freshman Rachel Meier of the Monroe White team won the 1,600 (6:01.5) and Albany junior Sydnee Woyak was third (6:02.73). The Monroe Red 400 relay team of Makayla Phillips, Oudinot, MacKenzie Hesgard and Eberle won the race in a meet-record time of 54.15 seconds.
The Monroe White 1,600 relay team of Meier, Isabel Bazley, Trickel and Hirsbrunner won with a time of 4:21.18 and Darlington took third (4:36.76).
Darlington's 3,200 relay team of Meister, Carly Langkamp, Emma Crist and Wolf won with a time of 10:53.83) and Albany was second (11:09.61). The Redbirds took the top three spots in the pole vault. Langkamp won the event (7-0), Hunter Weber took second (7-0) and Molly McDaniel was third (6-6).
Pecatonica-Argyle sophomore Josie Penniston took second in the 200 (27.31) and second in the 400 (1:01.32).
Monroe sophomore Lexus Trickle took third in the 400 (1:08.81) and Eberle was third in the 200 (28.11).
Darlington senior Johanna Meister finished first in the 800 (2:40.7 and Pecatonica-Argyle junior Samantha Erickson took second (2;44.78) and Black Hawk junior Aleigha Sigafus was third (2:47.74).
Monroe sophomore Casey Rielly finished third in the 100 hurdles (17.94). The Monroe Red 800 relay team of Phillips, Payton Sigafus, Hesgard and Oudinot took second (1:57.34) and Black Hawk was third (2:03.75).
In the long jump, Monroe sophomore Alacia Kuester finished second (14-4 1/4) and Hirsbrunner was third (14-3 3/4). Monroe senior Mary Kelly took third in the triple jump (29-9 3/4).
Darlington's Teresa Wamsley finished third in the shot put (29-9) and sophomore teammate Taryn Rankin was third in the discus (92-5).
In the boys' meet, Monroe senior Cody Faust won the 800 (2:03.84) and anchored the 1,600 relay. Faust was named the meet's most valuable performer.
Monroe senior Blain Harpstrite of the Monroe White team won the 100 in 11.69 seconds and senior Cody Wolf of Monroe Red took second (11.77).
Darlington senior Kade Carey won the 200 (24.28) ahead of Monticello junior Andy Yaun who took second (25.14). Albany senior Dallas Edmondson took third (25.24).
Monroe freshman Dylan Scace won the 1,600 (4:48.93) and Darlington senior Thomas Schultz was second (4:49.97). Monticello senior John Zuber took third (4:53.26). Albany senior Brennan Bloedel won the 3,200 (10:33.44) ahead of Monroe senior Justin Batz who was second (10:53.53). Darlington's Sean Barbee took third in the 3,200 (10:53.93). Monroe junior Tyler Sobacki won the 110 high hurdles (16.56) and Monroe sophomore Trevor Aebly was third (18.44). Freshman Brayden Zettle of Monroe Red won the triple jump (37-8) and Wagner was second (37-5 1/2) followed by Trumble in third (37-4 1/4).
Darlington senior Jason Singer finished first in the 400 (54.27) and he finished first in the long jump (18-11 3/4). Yaun was second (54.95). Junior Alex Koller of Monroe Red took third place (56.39). Darlington sophomore Mitchell Wagner won the high jump (5-10) and Faust was second (5-8).
Darlington's 800 relay team of Trevor Johnson, Cole Trumble, Cole Whalen and Carey won with a time of 1:40.94. The Redbirds' 1,600 relay team of Dane Siegenthaler, Schultz, Trumble and Jason Singer finished first (3:42.8) and the Monroe Red team took second (3:43.71 and Monroe White was third (3:43.87).
The Redbirds 1,600 relay team of Siegenthaler, Blake Cwynar, Jaden Komprood and Connor Hackett won (8:50.48). Albany took second (9:23.24) and the Monroe White team was third (9:42.77).
