MARSHALL - After more than a week of poor play, Glarner Knight head coach Braden Rindy was glad to find a toe-hold on a slippery slope. Not to mention bring home a cut of some conference hardware.
New Glarus snapped a four-game skid and got its piece of a three-way Capitol Conference title behind three players scoring in double digits to blow past Marshall, 60-37, Tuesday night.
Shanna Karls (14), Michelle Preston (12) and Kendra Mussehl (12) led the Glarner Knights in the rout to share the Capitol crown with rival Belleville and Cambridge with a 7-3 conference record. First-year head coach Rindy is only left wondering what could've been if the Glarner Knights secured one more victory.
"I wish we didn't have that slump," Rindy said. "But, we picked it up and hopefully we'll hit the playoffs (running)."
BRODHEAD 43, FORT ATKINSON 32
After her 22-point performance Saturday, Kristen Ruchti didn't mind sharing the Cardinals' scoring load with her sophomore protege Tuesday.
Ruchti and sophomore Dana Lewis each had 14 points to lead Brodhead past non-conference foe Fort Atkinson on the road.
The Cardinals ran out to a comfortable lead after the first quarter, 11-2, and built it to 23-12 at halftime. Alyssa Harding added seven points in the victory.
