BELOIT - The Green County Gems gymnastics team turned in several amazing performances at the Beloit Valentine's meet Feb. 13-14.
Rhianna Teubuert, 9, finished in first place in four routines as a Level 3 gymnast, including the uneven bars (9.35), floor (9.6), vault (9.65) and overall (38). She added a second-place finish on the balance beam (9.4). Heather Burkhalter, 8, took second on the bars (9.25), the vault (9.6) and overall (37.1). Rene Powers, 12, and Maggy Johnson, 13, each took second on the vault (9.5).
Lexus Trickel, 11, won three events in the Level 4 competition. She won the bars (9.0), floor (9.2) and overall (36.4). Jordan Hirsbrunner took first on the bars with a 9.0 and Brooke Isley, 10, finished first on the bars (8.9). Meredith Hose, 10, won the vault (9.4).
Chandra McGuire, 14, finished first on the beam (8.5) and on the floor (9.0) in the Level 7 competition. She finished second in the overall competition (32.1). Josie Eberle, 11, won the bars (7.3). Jenny Knox, 17, took first place on the floor (9.0).
In the prep optional level, Tre Voegeli, 13, won three routines including the bars (9.1), beam (9.3) and overall competition (36.3). She finished second on the floor (9.0) and vault (8.9). Sadie Swenson, 14, took first place on the floor (9.3) and on the vault (9.0). Swenson finished second in the overall competition (35.05).
