Fundraiser at VI for Down Under Bowl

SOUTH WAYNE - Marty's Village Inn will host a meat raffle and fundraiser for Black Hawk senior Jett Rufenacht today at 5 p.m.

Rufenacht is raising money for the 30th annual Down Under Bowl, which will take place in late June in Gold Coast, Australia. The Down Under Bowl brings in about 200-250 players from all over the United States for nearly two weeks of practice and games and is the largest American football tournament held outside of the United States.

Former NFL players such as Ahman Green of the Green Bay Packers and quarterback Jake Plummer have participated in the activities in the past.

Raffle items also include flowers for Mother's Day, a Yeti cooler and beach towels. Raffle ticket are one for $10 and three for $20 and the drawing will take place around 10 p.m.
