BLANCHARDVILLE - Pecatonica freshman Molly Hendrickson came through in the clutch Monday night.
Hendrickson hit a game-winning two-run double in the bottom of the eighth inning and courtesy runner Erin Kleppe beat a throw to the plate to give the Vikings a thrilling 4-3 win over Dodgeville.
Pecatonica sophomore Julia Meyer doubled and Hendrickson, who was 3-for-3, followed with the game-winning hit that drove home Kleppe.
"We are trying to work to keep our attitude up," Chuck Meyer said. "Hopefully, we can keep doing that. In a ballgame, everyone will make mistakes. How you handle it and come back will make the difference."
Junior Michelle Francois was 2-for-4 with an RBI for Pecatonica (1-1).
Orangeville 14, Black Hawk 1
GRATIOT - Orangeville freshman Hannah Bollon tossed a five-inning no-hitter against the Warriors. Bollon walked six and struck out seven. Black Hawk (1-1) had seven errors.
Black Hawk pitcher Abby Schiferl gave up six earned runs on 13 hits. She walked five and struck out one.
"We dropped a lot of balls," Black Hawk coach Roger Jackson said. "That's a lot of errors. They have played 15 games and we have only played two, but that is no excuse. Orangeville is a very good team. They hit the ball very well and had six extra-base hits."
