Four Monroe players honored by Badger South

MONROE - A quartet of Monroe boys hockey players received Badger South honorable mention all-conference honors recently.

The four Cheesemaker players named honorable mention all-conference include freshman Cade Janecke, junior Colton O'Connor, sophomore Payton Satuffacher and sophomore goalie Heath Bear. The quartet of Monroe players led the Cheesemakers to a 4-18-2 overall record and a sixth-place finish in the Badger South Conference at 1-10-1. Janecke led the team in points with 21 coming on 10 goals and 11 assists.

O'Connor was tied for second on the team in points (13) with five goals and eight assists. Stauffacher posted five goals and six assists this season.

Bear had an 86.8 save percentage and he averaged 28.8 saves per game.

Madison Edgewood, the Badger South Conference champions, had seven players get some form of all-conference accolades. The Crusaders (18-4-2) had three players garner unanimous first-team all-conference honors led by senior Carter Hottman who scored 42 goals and had 20 assists this season.
