MONROE - The Monroe volleyball team had four players receive Badger South All-Conference accolades.
Monroe coach Danya Ward made the announcement at the team's banquet on Tuesday. Monroe junior middle blocker Taylor Barrett was named second team all-conference.
The Cheesemakers had three players receive honorable mention all-conference including senior setter Heather Barta, senior outside hitter Becca Armstrong and senior Ashley Curtis.
Monroe finished the season 11-22 and lost in the regional quarterfinals to Walworth Big Foot 25-21, 25-15, 25-11. Madison Edgewood (11-1) won the Badger South, and the Cheesemakers (1-11 Badger South) finished last. It was a season which saw the Cheesemakers start strong at their early season invitational, struggle in a tough conference but then surge at the end. The Cheesemakers snapped a 27-match conference losing streak before winning their first round game against Delavan-Darien.
Capitol South

New Glarus junior Sierra Watrud and senior setter Alaina Legler were named second team all-conference recently. Junior Karina Moen was recognized as honorable mention all-conference.
Waterloo's Madeline Mosher and Wisconsin Heights' Kayla Nelson were named the conference's co-players of the year. Waterloo and Wisconsin Heights both finished 9-1 to share the conference title. New Glarus (9-14, 5-4 Capitol South) finished third in the conference.
