MONROE - The Monroe baseball team by just one run going into the seventh inning against Fort Atkinson Monday.
Fort Atkinson scored three runs in the seventh to seal a 6-2 win over the Cheesemakers.
Monroe junior Jaron Kuester went 2-for-3 to lead the Cheesemakers at the plate.
Monroe junior Taylor meir pitched five innings and gave up one earned run on three hits. meir sturck out four and didn't issue a walk.
Senior teammate Logan Weckerly pitched two innings and gave up three earned runs on three hits.
Pecatonica 9, Argyle 8
BLANCHARDVILLE - Pecatonica junior Brooks Chandler did a little bit of everything to help the Vikings edge Argyle in a comeback 9-8 win Monday.
Chandler went 4-for-5 and delivered the game-winning RBI single for a walkoff win in the bottom of the seventh inning. Chandler pitched two innings in relief to get the win. He gave up one run and struck out one.
Pecatonica (9-0, 7-0 Six Rivers East) committed eight errors.
"We didn't play very well defensively," Pecatonica coach Jim Strommen said. "We just found a way to win."
The Vikings' rally in the seventh started when Argyle senior pitcher Colton Ploessl walked Cory Linder. Pecatonica sophomore Logan Green had a sacrifice bunt to move Linder into scoring position. Pecatonica's Presly Hauser walked. Chandler then delivered a game-winning RBI single to left.
After a four-run first and second to take an 8-5 lead, Ploessl shut down the Vikings. Ploessl pitched 6 2/3 innings and gave up six earned runs on 10 hits. He struck out 11 and walked six.
"Colton pitched really well for them," Strommen said. "He kept them in the game."
Pecatonica senior Drew Schliem and Dakota Conwell each went 2-for-4 with a double.
The Orioles had six hits as a team including senior Kyle Olson's two-run single in a five-run second.
"That was a really big hit," Strommen said.
Pecatonica sophomore A.J. Hendrickson started on the mound. He pitched five innings and gave up seven runs on six hits. He struck out six and walked two.
Barneveld 13, Black Hawk 3
SOUTH WAYNE - Barneveld is trying to keep pace with Pecatonica in the conference and the Golden Eagles beat Black Hawk 13-3 in six innings Monday.
Barneveld broke the game open with a five-run second inning to take a 7-1 lead over the Warriors. Black Hawk senior Tayler Rupnow pitched six innings and gave up nine earned runs on eight hits. He struck out five and walked four.
The Warriors had four hits led by Rupnow who had a double. Black Hawk also committed four errors.
East Troy 16, Brodhead-Juda 11
EAST TROY - East Troy had five players get two hits or more en route to beating Brodhead-Juda in a slugfest 16-11.
East Troy had a seven-run first and a six-run second to take a 13-0 lead. The cardinals battled back with a five-run third. Brodhead-Juda's Brennan Bescup went 3-for-3 with a double. Brodhead-Juda sophomore Matt Schmidt went 3-for-5 with a triple and Blake Burns was 2-for-4.
Wisconsin Dells 13, New Glarus 0
WISCONSIN DELLS - Jarrett Sveum pitched a five-inning perfect game for Wisconsin Dells to lead the Chiefs to a 13-0 win over New Glarus.
New Glarus committed six errors and the Chiefs took advantage scoring 10 unearned runs.
