MONROE - Brandon Wilson shot a 3-over par 39 on the back 9 at the Monroe Country Club against Madison Edgewood, but the Cheesemakers had almost no chance at outshooting the Crusaders.
"Edgewood played very well and they are a very good team," Monroe coach Jeriamy Jackson said after Edgewood's 150-172 win in the two-team dual.
Playing from the blue tees, Cody Strang shot a blistering 34 for Edgewood, and all five varsity players shot a 41 or better.
Aaron Krattiger and Kyle Bruce each shot 44s for the Cheesemakers. Mitch McArdle shot a 45 and Garrett Voegeli carded a 46.
"We need to stop putting up the big numbers and play more consistently if we expect to compete with good teams," Jackson said.
Monroe junior varsity team also lost, 174-226.
The Cheesemakers next play Friday at noon at the Beloit Invitational.
