DARLINGTON - Twelve YMCA Mat Rats competed in the Darlington Redbird Coach Hackett Memorial Classic on Jan. 3.
In their respective brackets in kindergarten, Gage Jelle finished second place; Kraig Walter took third place and Grant Ula placed fourth.
Cole Meighan finished first in the first- and second-grade bracket, and Molly Patterson took second place. Owen Voegeli placed third.
In their respective brackets in grades third and fourth, Jack Dubach took first; Jacob Walker finished second; and Lane Meier took fourth.
In the fifth- and sixth-grade bracket, Garret Voegeli and Max Patterson each finished third place.
Patrick Rielly (grades seventh and eighth) took first place. Jack and Luke Dubach also competed in the BWC K-6 Challenge in Waunakee on Jan. 4. Jack Dubach finished first place in his bracket and Luke Dubach placed fourth in his bracket.
