MONROE - The second of three summer tennis tournaments, the city doubles tournament, sponsored by the Monroe Park & Recreation Department, will be held the weekend of July 17 to 18.
The tournament is open to anyone. Every team is guaranteed two matches with a back draw in each bracket. The tournament will have a men's and women's Class A bracket, the championship flight; Class B men's and women's brackets, for intermediate teams; and a 14-and-younger bracket.
The entry fee is $20 per team for high-school age participants and older, and $10 for the 14-and-younger teams.
The 14-and-younger and women's brackets will kick off play at 8 a.m. Saturday, July 17, at Recreation Park. The men's brackets will follow at 12:30 p.m. The tournament will conclude Sunday, July 18, with the finals.
