MADISON - Monroe seniors Melissa Hill and Pam Lehman went to the state tournament at the Nielsen Tennis Stadium hoping to advance a few rounds Thursday.

However, Homestead's Kristen Swenson and Sarah Berman (13-2) took out Monroe's No. 1 doubles team (21-8) in straight sets, 6-3, 6-1.

"They played well and had a really good season," Monroe head coach Stephanie Miller said of her seniors.
