Delavan Darien shuts down Raiders for title

JANESVILLE - The Sugar River girls soccer team is gearing up for the postseason after winning two games at the Janesville tournament on Saturday.

The Raiders advanced to the championship game and lost 2-0 to Delavan Darien. Sugar River senior goalkeeper Brittany Harried had three saves for the Raiders.

Sugar River handed Janesville Parker a 4-1 loss and the Raiders defeated Watertown 2-0.

In the game against Parker, Sugar River sophomore Lauren Narveson scored on an assist from Hannah Kernen at 4 minutes, 40 seconds to tie the score at 1 at the half.

Sugar River senior Kaitlyn Schluter scored on Kernen's second assist at 51:48. Moments later, senior Roz Judd scored off a pass from Hannah Conley to give the Raiders a 3-1 lead. Judd scored her second goal of the game at 55:59 to secure the win.

In the second game against Watertown, Kernen scored a goal at 43:40 and gave junior Paige Boley a pass which she converted into a goal that gave the Raiders the shutout.
