Darlington holds off Pecatonica, Hendrickson

BLANCHARDVILLE - Josh Soper scored 20 points and Ryan Glendenning had 16 as the Darlington High School boys basketball team held off Pecatonica 73-70 Tuesday night in a nonconference game.

A. J. Hendrickson scored a game-high 37 points for Pecatonica.

The Redbirds (4-2) made all eight of their 3-pointers in the first half, including three by Glendenning, en route to a 43-25 advantage.

Stronger defense and 20 points from Hendrickson helped Pecatonica (6-2) close the gap in the second half. A 3-pointer from the corner at the buzzer that would have tied the game rimmed out.

Chad Golackson and Brayden McDonald added 11 and 10 points, respectively, for Darlington.

Brooks Chandler had 12 points for Pecatonica, including three 3s.



Black Hawk 63, Mineral Point 60

MINERAL POINT - Senior Chase Stietz hit a 3-pointer with 5 seconds left to lift the Warriors (4-2) over the Pointers (1-6).

"Both teams played well," Black Hawk coach Charlie Anderson said. "I'm really proud of the way we battled."

Freshman Connor Meyer scored a team-high 19 points for Black Hawk. Sophomore CJ Leuzinger added 15 points, all on 3-pointers. Junior Josh Meier had 12 points and Stietz finished with 10.

Mineral Point's Chance Wendhausen led all scorers with 28 points.



Juda 71, Milwaukee High School of the Arts 61



WILLIAMS BAY 71, JUDA 68 (2 OT)

WILLIAMS BAY - Juda sophomore Keagen Haffele scored a game-high 20 points to lift the Panthers over the Milwaukee High School of the Arts in the Williams Bay tournament.

Haffele drilled three 3-pointers and made 5 of 6 free throws.

Juda junior Matt Schmitt added 17 points, junior Skyler Stuckey had 16 points and sophomore Cole Fortney chipped in 10.

In the loss to Williams Bay, Stuckey paced the Panthers with 21 points.



Milwaukee School of Languages 68, Monticello 43



Palmyra-Eagle 50, Monticello 26

CAMBRIDGE - The Ponies dropped two games in the Cambridge tournament.

Milwaukee School of Languages raced out to a

14-0 lead in the first half and it snowballed to 27-3 in the win over Monticello. Monticello sophomore John Errthum scored a team-high 16 points. Junior teammate Zach Price added 11 points and hit three 3-pointers.

In the game against Palmyra-Eagle, the Ponies trailed by just four points at the half, 27-23.

The Eagles outscored the Ponies 18-3 in the second half to cruise to the win.

Price had a team-high six points for the Ponies.
