DARLINGTON - Senior Amy Jorgenson scored 18 of her game-high 25 points in the first half to help the Darlington girls basketball team rout Dodgeville 68-47 in a non-conference game Tuesday.

Jorgenson and juniors Cassidy Chambers and Claire Scott provided plenty of scoring punch, but the Redbirds got several other contributions in the win.

Chambers scored 22 points and Scott added 10 as the Redbirds (6-5) built a 56-32 lead through three quarters. Jorgenson had seven assists and Chambers had five assists plus the Redbirds dominated the boards as Jorgenson, Scott, and senior AnnaLisa Ruesga each grabbed eight rebounds.

"This was a nice team win. We got a great contribution from several girls," said Darlington coach Mike Chambers.

"Dodgeville had trouble making their shots and I'd like to think our defense had something to do with that. We also did a better job of rebounding and limiting their second chance opportunities."
