ARGYLE - Albany's Katie Krupke pitched a two-hit complete game Tuesday to propel the Comets to a 4-2 softball win over Argyle.

Albany rallied from a 2-0 deficit with a three-run third inning. Kaley Hubert delivered a go-ahead RBI single to give the Comets a 3-2 lead.

Argyle (4-9, 3-3 Six Rivers East) started freshman pitcher Danielle Treuthardt because the Orioles are scheduled to play four games this week, then a tournament Saturday, Argyle coach Heidi Ganshert said.

The Orioles wanted to rest sophomore pitcher Kelsey Bartels.

"I should have probably started Bartels," Ganshert said. "I tried to save her arm."

The more perplexing part of the loss for Ganshert was the Orioles' lack of hitting.

"We hit, but we didn't hit the holes," Ganshert said. "I think that was disappointing."

Truethardt pitched 2 1/3 innings and gave up three runs on two hits. Both Truethardt and Bartels combined to walk nine batters. Bartels pitched 4 2/3 innings and gave up just one run on one hit. She struck out seven and walked four.

Pecatonica junior Kaci Cassidy, who pitched a shutout Monday against Albany, struggled. She gave up 10 runs on 12 hits and walked five in six innings.

Edgerton 1, Brodhead 0

BRODHEAD - Erika Stampfli struck out nine and allowed just six hits and one run. However, Edgerton held the Cardinals to just two hits and took the hotly contested Rock Valley matchup Tuesday.

Edgerton scored the game-winning run in the top of the second inning.
