STOUGHTON - The Monroe softball team's trio of junior Olivia Bobak, freshman Katie Hayes and freshman Alyse Maurer combined to drive in seven runs to lead the Cheesemakers to a 15-2 win over Stoughton in six innings Monday.
Bobak went 2-for-4 with two RBIs, a triple and a double. Maurer finished 2-for-4 with two RBIs, a double and one stolen base. Hayes led the team with three RBIs. Monroe (18-1, 9-0 Badger South), ranked No. 4 in the Division 2 Wisconsin Softball Coaches Association state poll, pounded out 10 hits, five of which went for extra bases, and drew six walks in six innings. Eight different players for the Cheesemakers had at least one hit.
"I was very happy," Monroe coach Joe O'Leksy said. "We were driving the ball to all fields. We were taking it where it was pitched and that is very good."
Bobak also turned in a solid pitching performance. She pitched a complete game two-hitter and gave up just two unearned runs to get the win. She struck out six and walked one.
