MONROE - The Monroe High School softball team's WIAA Division 2 regional final game against Beloit Turner was postponed Friday due to the rain.
The game has been rescheduled for 2 p.m. today at Beloit Turner.
Monroe coach Joe O'Leksy said the game was postponed because Turner's field was too wet.
"The field was wet and by the time it stopped raining and they took the tarp off and got the field ready it would have been 6 p.m. and they don't have lights," O'Leksy said.
Monroe (16-8) is looking to knock off the top-seeded Trojans (20-2), who are ranked second in the state in Division 2.
Beloit Turner pitcher Kailyn Packard tossed a no-hitter in the Trojans' 1-0 win over Whitewater in a regional semifinal on Thursday.
"I think it (rain out) benefits us," O'Leksy said. "It will be a battle between two good teams and pitchers, and I don't want poor conditions to decide the game if someone can't grip the ball or it's slippery."
