MILTON - In stretches, the Monroe volleyball team has displayed an ability to compete in the conference.
The Cheesemakers faced another challenge Thursday night and dropped a match to Milton in three games 25-10, 25-9, 25-20.
"I think they felt pretty intimidated tonight," Monroe coach Danya Ward said. "I think they went into it thinking it would be a loss. In reality they are a better team than that."
Monroe senior Becca Armstrong and junior Savannah Koester each had four kills. Junior Kayla Updike had six assists and senior Heather Barta added four digs.
The Cheesemakers have lost 25 straight conference matches and are still searching for their first win in the Badger South this season.
"I feel like the confidence level is pretty low at this point and time," Ward said.
Ward said she let the players on the team talk about the match after the loss.
"We are still working for that first win," Ward said. "At this point in the season they have to talk and figure it out as a team."
