MONONA - Monroe's girls tennis team defeated Monona Grove Thursday 5-2. All four singles players won for the Cheesemakers.
Kristin McArdle blanked Ashli Paulson in the No. 1 singles match 6-0, 6-0. Ellie Shuda won at No. 2 singles over Alyssa Strangstalien 6-2, 6-3.
At No. 3 singles, Lily Priewe defeated Mykenzy Palmer 6-0, 6-1 and Monroe's No. 4 singles player, Alyssa Quinn, knocked off Nicole Hildebrant 6-2, 6-3.
Kelsey Erickson and Brooke McBain gave the Cheesemakers its final win at No. 1 doubles, 6-3, 6-3.
Monroe's No. 2 doubles tandem of Becca Flannery and Erica Hegi lost to Greta Schnieder and Ashley Lex 6-2, 6-7 (6), 6-1. Elisabeth Brunner and Ellie Grossen lost their No. 3 doubles match as well, 6-1, 6-2 to Annie Hessling and Laura Wipperfurth.
Monroe's last dual of the year is Tuesday at home against Milton. The Badger Conference tournament is next Friday and Saturday.
