BURLINGTON - The Black Hawk volleyball team lost a tight WIAA Division 4 regional championship match to Catholic Central in three sets Saturday.
Catholic Central clipped the Warriors 25-21, 25-19, 25-21.
"We know when we go to Catholic Central they are always a fundamentally sound team," Black Hawk coach Rachel Wolff said. "I didn't feel like they (Black hawk) were intimidated to go play. They didn't let down. We played them point for point. They realize it could have been anyone's match."
Black Hawk junior Sam Lovelace had five kills and senior Brooke Moore had seven assists. Junior teammate Jordyn Delzer led the Warriors with two aces and two blocks. Senior Kayla Sigafus and junior Elizabeth Holland each also posted two blocks.
"We will miss our seniors," Wolff said. "They left it all out on the court. That is what you want to do at the end of the year."
