SOUTH WAYNE - The Black Hawk Warriors were only able to score a combined 10 points over the second and third quarters and lost to the Cassville Comets, 42-34 in non-conference boys basketball action Tuesday.
After the teams battled to a 13-13 tie at the end of one quarter, the Comets slowly pulled away, taking a 25-19 halftime lead then increased the lead to 41-23 after three quarters. The Warriors held the Comets to just one point in the fourth quarter, but couldn't overcome the large deficit.
Senior Michael Wolff led Black Hawk 12 points. Sophomore Merik Meythaler added eight points for the Warriors.
Black Hawk (3-5, 1-2 Six Rivers East) will host Juda Thursday.
