Brodhead's Justice Tway added 16 points and junior Parker Johnson chipped in eight points.

"We got a lot of open looks. We did a good job of being patient," Argyle coach Justin Jenson said. "We had a lot of shots that were not falling for us. When they (Brodhead) got the ball they really pushed it up the floor."

The Cardinals used a 1-3-1 zone at times.

"It gave us some trouble," Jenson said.

Argyle senior Collin Argue scored a team-high 16 points and Brent Ritschard added nine points.

Midway through the second half, Brodhead led by as many as 20 points. The Orioles (2-11) cut the Cardinals' lead to eight points with 4 minutes left.

"We played a 2-3 zone most of the game," Jenson said. "They started to stall late, and we had to switch to a man (defense)."

Argyle will host Barneveld, the top-ranked team in Division 5, on Thursday.

"It will be a very big challenge," Jenson said. "They are a good team with most of their guys returning from last year's state tournament team. We will do our best to make it a game. We will see what happens."
