BIG FOOT - The Brodhead-Juda Cardinals got two pins and a forfeit from their low weights to erase a 30-25 deficit and come away with a 43-36 win over Big Foot-Williams Bay in Rock Valley Conference wrestling Thursday.
The Cardinals had five pins overall with the first coming in the opening weight class at 132 pounds when senior Neno Heredia pinned Cody Turk in 33 seconds.
At 160 pounds, junior Kramer Lewis gave the Cardinals a 16-12 lead with a pin in 2:40 over Chanse Chentnik. Junior Hunter Colden followed with another pin in 1:31 over Quinn Dixon to extend the Cardinals' lead to 22-12. Big Foot-Williams Bay got pins in three of the next four weight classes to grab a 30-25 advantage before the lower weight classes took to the mat.
At 106 pounds, freshman Justin Sangermano received a forfeit to give Brodhead-Juda the lead for good at 31-30. Sophomore Justin Kraak, at 113 pounds, followed with a pin in 1:49 over Austin Duhigg to send the Cardinals to a 37-30 lead.
Sophomore 120 pounder Cody Knudtson clinched the win for Brodhead-Juda by pinning Nick Magala in 1:31.
Brodhead-Juda (2-0 Rock Valley South) will wrestle at Belleville Saturday.
