Cambridge edges Glarner Knights

CAMBRIDGE - New Glarus senior Tyler Kreklow scored all 19 of his points in the second half, but it wasn't enough as Cambridge edged the Glarner Knights 62-61 on Tuesday, handing the visitors their first Capitol Conference South Division loss.

Sophomore Trae VandeBerg scored 15 points, all in the first half for New Glarus (7-7, 3-1 Capitol South), which knocked down 13 3-pointers in the game. VandeBerg went

5-for-5 and Kreklow hit three from long range.

New Glarus trailed 48-47 heading into a fourth quarter.

Down 62-59, Kreklow scored on a layup swith 20 seconds to play to pull the Knights to within 62-61. New Glarus fouled on the ensuing Cambridge possession, but the Bluejays missed the front end of the bonus and the Glarner Knights rebounded.

Cambridge's John Barnes came up with a steal at mid-court to deny the Glarner Knights a chance to win it at the end.

Brodhead 74, Parkview 61

BRODHEAD - The Cardinals opened a 14-point halftime lead with a 23-9 second quarter to earn a Rock Valley South win.

Senior Jesse DeLorme scored 19 points to lead the Cardinals (8-5, 6-3 Rock Valley South) while senior Tate Harnack had 17 points and seniors Jacob Johnson and Trent Jordan each scored 12.

The Cardinals were 24 of 38 at the free throw line.

Black Hawk 51, Albany 42

SOUTH WAYNE - The Warriors held the Comets without a field goal in the first quarter while taking a 15-2 lead and rolled to the Six Rivers East win.

Junior Merik Meythaler led the Warriors (7-7, 4-3 Six Rivers East) with 11 points and senior Hayden Schliem added 10.

Albany (6-7, 3-4 Six Rivers East) got a game-high 17 points from sophomore Isaiah Shell.

Pecatonica 70, Argyle 39

BLANCHARDVILLE - Senior Karson Feller scored 18 points and the Vikings took a 37-17 halftime lead in the Six Rivers East contest.

Pecatonica (4-10, 2-5 Six Rivers East) also got 13 points from junior Wyatt Massey and 11 from freshman Drew Schliem.

The Orioles (3-11, 0-7 Six Rivers East) were paced by senior Jared Johnson with 12 points and sophomore Alec Treuthardt with 11.
