Butler, Warriors roll by Panthers

JUDA - Freshman Bailey Butler had 12 kills to lead the Black Hawk volleyball team to a sweep of Juda in a Six Rivers East Conference clash on Thursday.

Butler's hitting at the net and junior Savanna Burmeister's serving helped lead Black Hawk to a 25-20, 25-18, 25-11 win.

"She (Butler) was on fire tonight," Juda coach Scott Anderson said. "She was really good at the net and made really good decisions. In the first two games when we were in it. Savanna Burmeister had some great serving and a couple of runs."

Burmeister had three aces to help Black Hawk improve to 3-1 overall and 2-0 in the Six Rivers East. Juda drops to 4-3, 0-2.

Black Hawk senior Hannah Herbst racked up 15 assists, and junior Sydney Delzer had four blocks.

Juda senior Hailey Kammerer posted six kills and had a team-high 14 digs. Senior Maddie Roth added six kills, and senior MacKenzie Byrne had a team-best 17 assists.



Argyle 3, Monticello 0

MONTICELLO - Argyle junior Jena Saalsaa had a match-high 16 kills and the Orioles won their fourth straight match breezing past Monticello 25-13, 25-17, 25-9 .

Junior Jadyn Saalsaa posted six kills and had nine digs, and senior Ashley Bruehlman delivered nine aces and had 10 digs for Argyle (4-0, 2-0 Six Rivers East).

"We couldn't handle their serve tonight," Monticello coach Scott Smice said. "That is something we will have to work on. They have a lot of good hitters. They are the team to beat in the conference."

Argyle junior Kirsten Ostby dished out 23 assists, and Dorissa DeNure had one block.

Junior Hannah Zanow had a team-best five kills, while sophomore Miah Brokopp had 17 assists for Monticello (1-3, 0-2). Junior Alyssen Noriega racked up 14 digs and freshman Mackenzie Errthum had three blocks.



Marshall 3, New Glarus 0

NEW GLARUS - Nicole Eggers had 10 kills to lead the Cardinals to a 25-12, 25-17, 25-12 victory over New Glarus.

New Glarus senior Willow Lee had a team-high six kills, and senior Julia Barnaby racked up five blocks and notched three aces. Senior Riley Parker had nine assists and Junior Megan Bellefeuille had four digs for New Glarus (0-6, 0-1 Capitol South).



Barneveld 3, Albany 0

ALBANY - The Golden Eagles cruised to a 25-12, 25-14, 25-8 win over Albany.

Taryn Pickarts had nine kills to lead the Eagles.

Albany junior Libby Beck had three kills, and junior Sydney Bloedel posted six assists. Senior Hailey Stefanik had a team-high nine digs.

"A lot of solid play and teamwork from Barneveld helped them to a solid win," Albany coach Eric Ebensperger said. "Early in the first two games, it stayed close, but good serving runs helped Barneveld to the win."
