Brodhead's elite eight earn all-conference honors

BRODHEAD - The Brodhead boys basketball team had three players honored as first-team Rock Valley All-Conference picks.

The all-conference selections for the Cardinals included senior Ryan Miller (13.6 points per game), junior Jacob Cole (11.4 ppg) and sophomore big man J.J. Panoske (16 ppg).

Brodhead senior Micah Wallace was named honorable mention. Nick Melton of Parkview was named Player of the Year. Brodhead coach Brian Kammerer was selected as the Coach of the Year.

The accolades keep rolling in for the Brodhead girls basketball team's twin towers - senior Kristen Ruchti and junior Dana Lewis - who both were named to the Rock Valley South All-Conference team.

Ruchti, a 6-foot, 2-inch forward, averaged 13.4 points per game. She and Lewis, at 6-1, (14.5 ppg) helped lead the Cardinals to the conference title.

Brodhead seniors Alyssa Harding and Courtney Mielke were named honorable mention all-conference. Brodhead coach Chris Medenwaldt was named Coach of the Year and Clinton's Liz Althoff was the Player of the Year.
