Brodhead-Juda piles up pins

EDGERTON - The Brodhead-Juda wrestling team remained unbeaten in the Rock Valley Conference with a 60-15 win over Edgerton on Thursday night.

The Cardinals won 11 of the 14 matches and posted nine pins en route to the win. The Cardinals dominated the middle and upper weight classes with freshman Brady Colen (145), Levi Rundle (152), Kramer Lewis (160), Hunter Colden (170), Gavin Baade (182) and Tyler Davis (195) all posting pins. Brodhead-Juda also got pins from Jordan Kraak (113), Cody Knudtson (120) and Neno Heredia (132).

Brodhead-Juda's Steven Voights (220) defeated Kevin O'Brien 9-7 and Logan Maurer defated Adam Carlson 5-3.

CUBA CITY - S'WESTERN 41, DARLINGTON 24

DARLINGTON - The Redbirds were tied with Cuba City/Southwestern at 24-24 with three weight classes remaining, but the Cubans got two pins and a technical fall in the final three matches to top Darlington a SWAL meet. The Redbirds were unable to get a pin against the Cubans, but got a huge win in double overtime at 285 pounds by sophomore Hayden Black who won 2-1 over Nathan Poll and tied the meet at 12-12. Senior Tyler Black got the Redbirds' first win of the night at 182 pounds with a 5-1 decision over Brett Wilson.
