MADISON - Monroe's girls basektball team lost to Winneconne in the WIAA Division 2 state semifinal game Friday, 31-30.
Monroe trailed much of the game before going on an 11-0 run in the second half, taking a three-point lead on a jumper by Chelsea Brice.
But the Cheesemakers failed to score in the final 3 minutes, 57 seconds.
The Cheesemakers finish their season with a 26-2 record. Head coach Kevin Keen, who announced his retirement in the middle of the season, will end his career with a 394-127 record.
