BOYS BASKETBALL: Warriors topple Warren

SOUTH WAYNE - The Black Hawk boys basketball team was money shooting its free throws in a 53-46 win over Warren (Ill.) on Saturday night.

Black Hawk jumped out to a 19-8 lead and led by 16 points at halftime. The Warriors (7-5, 2-2 Six Rivers East) made 20-of 27 free throws to help keep the cushion.

Warren outscored Black Hawk 16-9 in the third quarter and cut the Warriors' lead to 42-33 at the start of the fourth quarter. Black Hawk junior TJ Adams led the Warriors with a game-high 20 points. Black Hawk senior Michael Place had nine points, senior Wade Wolff and junior Cody Foster scored eight and seven points apiece.

BARNEVELD 56, DARLINGTON 54 (OT)

BARNEVELD - A week after knocking off No. 1-ranked Cuba City, the Darlington boys basketball team was at it again and put a scare in Barneveld.

Barneveld survived the Redbirds to win 56-54 in overtime.

Darlington (6-7, 3-4 SWAL) trailed just 27-26 at halftime. The Redbirds outscored the Golden Eagles 14-10 in the third quarter and took a 40-37 lead into the fourth quarter.

Darlington sophomore Alex Erickson led the Redbirds with a game-high 24 points. Darlington junior Ethan Pickett scored 11 points and Tanner Havens chipped in 10.
