EDGERTON - The Monticello boys basketball team's hot streak hit a snag Monday with a 59-43 loss to Weyauwega-Fremont in the first round of the Edgerton Holiday Tournament.
Weyauwega-Fremont added to a 28-23 halftime lead by outscoring the Ponies 14-8 in the third quarter.
Monticello senior Brandon Holz led the Ponies with a team-high 13 points, including a trio of 3-pointers.
Monticello senior Casey Klossner added eight points.
With the loss, Monticello falls to 5-2 (4-0 Six Rivers East). The Ponies will play Iola-Scandinavia at 6 p.m. today in the tournament. Edgerton topped Iola-Scandinavia 45-35 in Monday's other game.

GRESHAM - Beau Benner scored 14 of his game-high 28 points in the first quarter as the Panthers rolled to a victory in the Gresham Tournament.
Benner added eight points in the second quarter as Juda went on a 15-4 run to take a 35-18 halftime lead.
Dylan Bauman and Tyler Pierce each added 10 points for Juda.
Cory Hill and Dylan Wheeler led Oneida Nation with 10 points each.
