WATERLOO - The New Glarus boys basketball team escaped Waterloo with a 55-51 win Monday night.
The Glarner Knights jumped out to an 11-8 lead and the score was tied at 25 at halftime.
The Knights led 40-34 to start the fourth quarter. Waterloo's chances of winning a close game were derailed by poor free throw shooting (4-of-11).
New Glarus junior Cameron Jeglum led the Knights with 12 points.
Fellow junior Ryan Bright scored 10 points and senior Cassidy Flannery added nine.
New Glarus improves to 15-4 overall, 7-3 in the Capitol South.

DODGEVILLE - The Vikings, playing without leading scorer Kaleb Feller (17.8 points per game), struggled against the Dodgers.
Dodgeville outscored Pecatonica (6-13, 3-8 Six Rivers East) 15-5 in the first quarter. The Vikings outscored the Dodgers 15-8 in the second quarter to whittle the halftime lead down to 23-20.
The Dodgers put the game away by outscoring the Vikings 16-4 in the third quarter.
Pecatonica senior Jake Rindy led the Vikings with six points and senior Milton Kurschner and junior Jeremy Meudt added five points apiece.
