PRAIRIE DU SAC - Monroe senior Devon Boeck shot a 9-over-par 79 to take sixth place at the Sauk Prairie Invitational at the Lake Wisconsin Country Club.
Monroe finished sixth (393) out of 10 teams in the invitational. Milton edged Verona for the team title 323-393.
Last year, the Cheesemakers shot a 322 and finished third.
"It was playing harder today than the past," Monroe coach Braden Rindy said. "It was really windy. That's not an excuse. We just didn't show up and play well."
Junior Collyn Wilde carded a 90 and freshman Conner Allen shot a 101. Senior Kyle Krebs finished with a 103.
It's the highest score the Cheesemakers have shot in 18 holes as a team this season.
"The goal was to be in the top three," Rindy said. "Milton has a really good team. Madison Memorial and Middleton are always very good and Verona is tough. I wanted to be closer to the upper echelon. We were closer to the lower half. I expected us to do a lot better."
