Blue Jays take two from New Glarus

NEW GLARUS - New Glarus dropped a doubleheader to Cambridge Saturday, April 12.

Cambridge knocked off the Glarner Knights 20-4 and won the second game of the twinbill 4-2. With the losses, New Glarus drops to 0-4, 0-2 Capitol South.

The Blue Jays pounded out 18 hits in the first game. The Blue Jays scored four runs in both the third and fourth and exploded with a 10-run sixth.

New Glarus senior Patrick Elzen went 2-for-3 with a double to lead the Knights. The Knights used four pitchers, but junior Koner French took the loss. French pitched four innings and gave up nine runs (six earned) on 11 hits. He struck out five and walked two.

In the second game, New Glarus senior Kyle Larson turned in a solid pitching performance. Larson pitched 5 1/3 innings and gave up three earned runs on five hits. He struck out two and walked four. However, the Knights were not able to get much run support for Larson in a 4-2 loss. The Knights were limited to one hit.
