Blue Devils topple Cards

BRODHEAD - Evansville-Albany running back Brennen Banks rushed for 250 yards on 33 carries and scored two touchdowns to lead the Blue Devils to a 33-19 win over Brodhead-Juda on Friday.

With the win, Evansville-Albany (7-1) stays tied with Clinton atop the Rock Valley Conference. Brodhead-Juda drops to 4-4 with the loss.

Brodhead-Juda's Seth Allen had a 66-yard TD run late in the first quarter to tie the game at 6. Brodhead-Juda senior quarterback Matt Schmitt then tossed a 26-yard TD pass to early in the second quarter to give the Cardinals a 13-6 lead.

Banks had a 55-yard TD run and senior Chase Katzenmeyer had 1- and 30-yard TD runs to give the Blue Devils a 20-13 lead.

Katzenmeyer, who rushed for 104 yards on 14 carries, had a 13-yard TD run in the third quarter and Banks scored his second touchdown on a 1-yard run.

Allen rushed for 113 yards on 10 carries and scored one touchdown to lead the Cardinals. Brodhead-Juda running back Jeffrey Williams also scored on a 1-yard run in the fourth quarter.



Darlington 63, Fennimore 0

FENNIMORE - Darlington senior running back Hunter Johnson rushed for 200 yards on 12 carries and scored five touchdowns to lead the second-ranked Redbirds to a 63-0 win over Fennimore.

Johnson had touchdown runs of 55, 45, 4, 9 and 8 yards. Darlington (8-0, 5-0 SWAL) racked up 539 total rushing yards. Hunter's cousin, Trevor Johnson rushed for 106 yards on four carries and had a 64-yard TD run in the second quarter.

The Redbirds' defense forced four turnovers (two interceptions and two fumbles). Darlington senior Jared Meister recovered a fumble for a touchdown in the first quarter.
