BLANCHARDVILLE - Black Hawk freshman Conner Meyer scored a team-high 25 points and the Warriors had four players in double figures to tip the Pecatonica High School boys basketball team 72-69 in the regular-season finale Thursday night.
Black Hawk junior Josh Meier added 19 points, and senior Chase Stietz had 14 points, including four 3-pointers. Sophomore teammate C.J. Leuzinger chipped in 12 points and hit two 3-pointers.
With the win, Black Hawk (11-11, 6-6 Six Rivers East) spoiled the Vikings' Senior Night.
"They (Black Hawk) did a really good job of utilizing their big guys and size," Pecatonica coach Matt Fink said. "They have some really good young players."
Pecatonica junior A.J. Hendrickson scored a game-high 30 points. Senior teammate Brooks Chandler added 18 points.
Fink said the Vikings will have to treat it like a wake-up call going in to the tournament.
"We are disappointed we lost," he said. "It bothers us. That's a good thing. The games that matter start Tuesday night. We wanted to stay on a roll going into the tournament. It didn't happen. We will get ready for Tuesday to make a tournament run."
Pecatonica (17-5, 9-3) received a No. 3 seed and will host 14th-seed Highland in a regional quarterfinal on Tuesday.
Argyle 49, Juda 44
JUDA - Argyle senior Riley Ostby scored a game-high 19 points to propel the Orioles over Juda (5-16, 1-11 Six Rivers East).
"It was a very hard-fought game," Juda coach James Pickett said. "Argyle started the second half with a little run. We picked up the intensity and cut it to three points. Argyle made just enough free throws in the end to keep it out of reach.
"Definitely a momentum-builder for Tuesday's playoff game at Rio."
Argyle (14-8, 7-5) made 8 of 16 free throws compared to the Panthers who were 7 of 8. Argyle junior Collin Argue added 14 points and Mitch Dammen chipped in eight.
Juda sophomore Keegan Haffele scored a team-high 15 points and made two 3-pointers. Junior teammate Skyler Stuckey had 13 points and hit three 3-pointers.
Albany 50, Monticello 34
MONTICELLO - Albany senior Tyler Dahl scored a game-high 21 points to help the Comets cruise past Monticello.
Albany (13-9, 6-6 Six Rivers East) built a 25-6 lead by halftime.
The Comets hit six 3-pointers.
Albany senior Cole Trapp and junior Brock Gilkes each scored 10 points. The Comets got two 3-pointers each from Dahl, Trapp and Gilkes.
Monticello sophomore Jon Errthum scored a team-high eight points. The Ponies (2-20, 1-11) outscored the Comets 28-25 in the second half. Monticello's Zach Price, Braden Gafner and Logan Marty each chipped in seven points.
Both teams were solid from the free-throw line. The Comets were 10 of 14 at the line and the Ponies were 8 of 9.
New Glarus 69, Lodi 61
NEW GLARUS - The Glarner Knights used a big first half to roll over Lodi.
New Glarus freshman Zach Feller scored 11 of his 13 points in the first half to help the Knights claim a 37-22 lead at the break.
Freshman teammate Jaden Kreklow scored a team-high 14 points. Senior Gavin Binger added 10 points, senior Trey Taylor chipped in nine points, and Cullen Brooks had eight points.
Feller made three of the Knights' five 3-pointers. New Glarus (14-8, 8-2 Capitol South) made 10 of 14 free throws.
New Glarus received a No. 5 seed and will host No. 12 Parkview in a regional quarterfinal on Tuesday.
In other action, Darlington rolled to a 65-33 win over Riverdale. The Redbirds received a No. 3 seed in the WIAA Division 4 tournament and will have a first-round bye on Tuesday. Darlington will play the winner of Cambridge and Waterloo in a regional semifinal game March 4.
