Black Hawk gets Randolph; Juda out

SOUTH WAYNE - For the third time this season, the Black Hawk volleyball team knocked off Barneveld.

The Warriors' five-set win Thursday ended the Golden Eagles' season in a WIAA Division 4 regional semifinal match. Black Hawk sisters Hannah Butler and Bailey Butler combined for 48 kills to lead the Warriors to a 22-25, 25-16, 23-25, 25-21, 15-8 win. With the win, Black Hawk (16-5) advances to play at top-seeded Randolph in a regional championship match Saturday.

Freshman Bailey Butler had a team-high 28 kills and sophomore Hannah Butler had 20 kills to pace the Warriors. Senior Hannah Herbst racked up 34 assists. Junior teammate Sydney Delzer had seven kills and two aces, while senior Teearia Sweeney posted 11 digs.

Barneveld's Taryn Pickarts had 11 kills and nine assists and Courtney Skaife had a match-high 38 digs.



Randolph 3, Juda 0

RANDOLPH - Top-seeded Randolph swept three sets from ninth-seeded Juda 25-15, 25-15, 25-15 in a WIAA Division 4 regional semifinal Thursday.

"We played extremely well and did everything we could digging," Juda coach Scott Anderson said. "They are just a tough hitting team."

Juda senior MacKenzie Byrne had 10 assists and a team-best 14 aces. Senior teammate Hailey Kammerer had a team-high seven kills and notched three aces.
