Black Hawk-Darlington wrestlers take second at La Follete Duals

MADISON - The Black Hawk-Darlington wrestling team finished second at the Madison La Follette Duals Saturday.

Black Hawk-Darlington went 4-1 as a team in the duals. Black Hawk-Darlington defeated the Milton reserves 65-6 and edged Mount Horeb 38-33. The Warrior-Redbirds beat Racine Horlick 42-36 and cruised to a 45-27 win over Madison La Follette.

Black Hawk-Darlington senior heavyweight Zach Wolf, Beau Holland (132 pounds) and Taylor Evenstad (220) each went 5-0 in the duals Saturday. Wolf pinned Milton's Tony Hernandez in 1 minute, 7 seconds. He pinned Tomah's Zach Herricks in 1:12 and pinned Mount Horeb's Griffin Frisch in 27 seconds. Wolf pinned Racine Horlick's William Hunt in 2:38 and won a match by forfeit.

Holland defeated Milton's Tylor Orsburne 5-1 and edged Tomah's Travis Von Haden 4-2. He won a major decision 17-4 over Mount Horeb's Miles Steinhoff and pinned Racine Horlick's Lukeus Perez in 4 minutes. He beat Madison La Follette's Derek Lawinger 8-2.

Evenstad pinned Tomah's Mason Komay in 53 seconds and pinned Madison La Follette's Francisco Garcia in 38 seconds. Evenstad also won three matches by forfeit.

Black Hawk-Darlington's Colin Novak, who wrestled at 138 and 145 went 4-1. Black Hawk-Darlington's Conrad Blosch (195) went 2-1 and Tyler Komprood (195) was 2-3 overall going 2-0 at 195 and 0-3 at 182.
