Black Hawk-Darlington takes third

LANCASTER - The Brodhead-Juda wrestling team had five wrestlers finish in the top four at the Lancaster Invitational on Saturday.

Brodhead-Juda senior Jackson Hauri (18-2) went 3-0 to win the title at 132 pounds. Hauri pinned Iowa Grant-Highland's Jackson Sedbrook in 3:25. In a semifinal match, he defeated Boscobel's Dakota Frazier in a technical fall 16-0. Hauri defeated Black Hawk-Darlington's Kolbe Ubersox 7-5 in the championship match.

Brodhead-Juda's Kaleb Erb (145) finished second, Jeffery Willams (152) and junior Trent Davis (220) each took third. Blake Burns (138) placed fourth and Tyler Hoesly (182) was fifth.

Sparta won the 13 team title racking up 201.5 points. Iowa-Grant-Highland finished second (152.5) and Black Hawk-Darlington took third (118.5).

Brodhead-Juda finished sixth (92.5).

Erb went 2-1 in the tournament. He beat Lancaster's Owen Wolf 5-1 and pinned Iowa-Grant-Highland's Clayton Kite in 1:41.

Sparta's Jaden Winchel pinned Erb in 28 seconds in the title match. Williams (152) went 4-1. He edged Parkview's Byron Brown 6-5 in a third-place match. Davis (220) went 3-1 and clipped Cuba City's Francisco Garcia 5-3 in a third-place match.

Black Hawk-Darlington had four wrestlers finish in the top four. Paul King (126) and Ubersox (132) each finished second. Cayden Milz (120) placed third and junior Brody Milz (195) took fourth.

After a first-round bye, King pinned Iowa-Grant-Highland's Noah Pennekamp in 5:57.

Madison West's Robert Cooper beat King 13-2 in a the title match. Ubersox pinned Lancaster's Logan Schneider in 3:08 and defeated Sparta's Kyle Erickson in a technical fall 15-0.

Cayden Milz (120) pinned Belmont-Platteville's Christopher Gillen in 51 seconds in the quarterfinals. Sparta's John Bailey beat Milz in a technical fall in the semifinals 17-0. Milz bounced back defeating Cashton's Matt Harter 11-4. He then pinned River Ridge-Cassville's Caleb Lenzendorf in 2:34.

Sugar River has two finish top eight

PRAIRIE DU SAC - The Sugar River wrestling team had four wrestlers finish in the top eight at the Sauk Prairie Invitational on Saturday.

Both Justin Knoebl at 126 pounds and John Chenoweth (138) finished sixth. Robert Chenoweth (113) and Max Gerner (132) each took eighth. Sauk Prairie won the 20 team invite with 272.5 points. Holmen (248) finished second and River Valley was third (218). Sugar River placed 17th (45) and Pecatonica-Argyle (20) was 19th.

John Chenoweth went 3-2 in the tournament. He pinned Madison La Follette's Dylan Lawinger in 1:49 in a first-round match. Holmen's Tanner Schultz then pinned him in 1:26. Chenoweth rebounded in a consolation match, pinning Poynette's Carson Frost in 4:04. In a fifth-place match, Cedarburg's Max Grudzinski defeated Chenoweth 11-4.

Knoebl also went 3-2 in the tournament. After a first-round bye, Knoebl lost 5-0 to Sauk Prairie's Gavin Lankey. After a second bye, Knoebl beat Greenfield's Grant Stanioch 11-3. Sauk Prairie's Nick Zech defeated Knoebl in a technical fall 15-0 in 3:38 in a fifth-place match.

Pecatonica-Argyle had two wrestlers take seventh including Eastan Schraepfer (145) and Prestan Rosenstiel (182). Both Schraepfer and went 3-2. Schraepfer pinned Sugar River's Jack Diedreich in 2:34. Mauston's Teagen Miller then pinned him in 1:07. Schraepfer rebounded by pinning Poynette's Justin Taylor in 3:39. After an 11-2 loss to Holmen's Wyatt McCutchen, Straepfer beat Columbus' Sean Roche 8-0 in a seventh-place match.

Rosenstiel got off to a tough start losing to Holmen's Kyle Burkhardt 19-11. After a bye, Rosenstiel defeated Sauk Prairie's Kyle Benish 13-6. He then rolled to a 21-11 win over De Pere's Charlie Hooyman. In a seventh-place match, Rosenstiel avenged an earlier loss to Burkhardt pinning him in 3:20.
