ORANGEVILLE - After a slow start, the Black Hawk boys basketball team recovered in the second half to knock off Orangeville, 54-42.
Orangeville led 15-9 after the first quarter. The Broncos expanded that lead to 26-18 at halftime before the Warriors responded with a 22-11 third and 14-5 fourth.
"The kids, mentally, got after it," said Black Hawk coach Corey Manlick. "In the first half, we were like a deer in the headlights. We didn't know what was happening. We got our heads on right, refocused and got after it."
Seth Butler led the Warriors with 16 points. He was joined in double figures by Tyler Peterson, who had 10.
"Peterson did a nice job of getting into a rhythm," Manlick said. "He hit some huge threes, which kinda propelled us."
Black Hawk (19-1, 10-1 in the Six Rivers East) will wrap up their regular season tonight with a game against Argyle.
