Black Hawk, Argyle net wins

ARGYLE - Junior Jena Saalsaa racked up 17 kills and two blocks to lead the Orioles to a four-set win over Juda Tuesday.

Argyle (9-6, 6-0 Six Rivers East) edged the Panthers 25-23, 18-25, 26-24, 25-17 to stay unbeaten in the conference.

"We knew Juda would be tough," Argyle coach Jen Butler said. "They are a very scrappy team. They were really good on defense. We just had to keep working and fighting and we came out on top in the end."

Argyle junior Kirsten Ostby dished out 22 assists and senior Morgan Nelson had 15 digs. Junior Jadyn Saalsaa notched a team-high nine aces.

Juda's Maddie Roth had a team-best eight kills and senior MacKenzie Byrne racked up 18 assists. Senior Erika Duecker and junior Karlee Kesler had four aces. Sophomore Montana Steinmann delivered nine digs and senior Hailey Kammerer posted two blocks.



Darlington 3, Southwestern 0

DARLINGTON - The Redbirds swept Southwestern on Tuesday, 25-21, 27-25, 25-11.

Kennedy Rankin had nine kills, five aces and three blocks to lead Darlington. Teammate Roxi Reuter had 18 assists and three aces, and Chelsea Golackson had six kills.

Darlington improves to 11-5 overall and 5-1 in the SWAL Conference. Southwestern falls to 3-2 in the conference.



Pecatonica 3, Monticello 1

BLANCHARDVILLE - Grace Keast had 11 kills as the Vikings picked up their second Six Rivers East win of the season, 24-26, 25-18, 26-24, 25-19.

Sami Holstrom had four aces for Pecatonica, teammate Ninah McKeon had two blocks and 12 digs, Melody Burnett finished with 14 digs and Taetum Pagel dished out 27 assists.

For Monticello, Hannah Zanow had seven kills, Alyssen Noriega finished with four aces and 33 digs, and for assists, Lindsey Pence had 14 and Miah Brokopp 16.



Black Hawk 3, Albany 0

SOUTH WAYNE - Black Hawk freshman Bailey Butler powered 14 kills to lead the Warriors to a sweep over Albany.

Black Hawk rolled to a 25-20, 25-15, 25-15 victory over the Comets. Black Hawk senior Hannah Herbst dished out 18 assists and Sydney Delzer posted three blocks. Senior Savanna Burmeister notched four aces.

Albany junior Libby Beck had nine kills and three aces. Junior Sydney Bloedel racked up 18 assists and senior Hailey Stefanik had a team-best 14 digs.
