SOUTH WAYNE - Hannah Butler and Cheyenne Stewart each swatted a home run for Black Hawk in a 13-2 win over Pecatonica Monday.

Stewart smashed a solo shot in the third that gave her team a 6-0 lead at the time. In the bottom of the fifth, Butler launched a walk-off two-run blast that put the 10-run mercy rule into effect. It was Butler's only hit in four trips to the plate.

Black Hawk scored three runs in the first, two in the second and one in both the third and fourth innings. In the bottom of the fifth, the Warriors plated six runners, capped by Butler's blast.

On the mound, Butler finished with five strikeouts and a walk on her way to the win. Bailey Butler was 2-for-4, and the only player with multiple hits in the game.

Ninah McKeon walked two and struck out three on the hill for Pecatonica. The Vikings scored one run each in the fourth and fifth innings.

Pecatonica is back on the field today, hosting Argyle, while Black Hawk travels to Barneveld.

Juda-Albany 1, Barneveld 0

Juda - Nicki Becker won the pitchers' duel as the defending state champions held off Barneveld.

"Nicki was on tonight. She had a sound performance," Juda-Albany coach Bill Davis said.

Becker finished by allowing just two hits and zero walks against 12 strikeouts to get the complete game shutout. Barneveld's Audrey Hendrickson allowed just three hits and two walks while striking out seven. Hendrickson and Becker were both the first-team all-conference pitchers in the Six Rivers East last season.

"Their pitcher was pitching well, really changing speeds," Davis said. "I was a bit disappointed in our offense, but it was still a good game."

The game's only run came in the bottom of the third inning. Maddie Roth led off with a walk and moved to second on a fielder's choice. Two batters later, Hailey Kammerer clutched up and smacked an RBI single. Kammerer was 3-for-3 in the game and the only player with multiple hits.

Juda-Albany (8-1, 7-0 Six Rivers East) hosts Monticello in a doubleheader today.

Boscobel took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the third, then tacked on four more runs in the fifth and added an insurance run in the sixth.

Alyssa Tuescher took the loss on the mound, allowing 10 hits and five walks in six innings. Tuescher struck out three and had one of Darlington's two errors.
