BH rolls Ponies; Argyle falls hard

SOUTH WAYNE - Conner Meyer scored 31 points as Black Hawk exploded for a seemingly easy win against Monticello Tuesday, 68-22.

"We started with the press and were able to get some steals," Warriors coach Charlie Anderson said. "We led 15-4 after four minutes."

Black Hawk (1-2, 1-2 Six Rivers East) led 5-13 at halftime and held the Ponies to just 9 points in the second half.

Jett Rufenacht scored 9 for Black Hawk and teammate Michael Flanagan had 8. Reece Rufer led Monticello (1-4, 1-1) with 7 points.

Black Hawk travels to Juda on Friday before hosting Platteville Dec. 22. Monticello hosts Pecatonica on Friday before hitting the road to Belmont Dec. 19.



Barneveld 69,

Argyle 20

ARGYLE - The defending state champion Barneveld Eagles routed host Argyle on Tuesday. The Orioles (1-5, 0-3 Six Rivers East) scored an even-10 points in each half, while the Eagles scored 34 in the first and 35 in the second.

Kauy Fargo scored 22 to pace all scorers, with teammate Jacob Roberts notching 20 and Malcolm Reed chipping in 13 for Barneveld (2-3, 2-0). Gavin Johnson was Argyle's leading scorer with 11.

Argyle hosts Benton on Dec. 21 and then travels to Brodhead Dec. 29.
