GRATIOT - The Black Hawk softball team carried a 2-1 lead into the sixth inning before everything unraveled.

Black Hawk pitcher Kayla Melland walked a hitter and the Warriors committed an error that opened the door to a four-run sixth inning by Wisconsin Heights, which cruised to a 15-2 win.

"It kept snowballing," Black Hawk coach Roger Jackson said. "It was a total collapse. It was a good game and then it went south. The walks will kill you."

The Vanguards put the game away with a 10-run seventh. The Warriors were limited to just five hits.

Black Hawk senior Lacey Sigafus went 2 for 3 with a double to lead the Warriors at the plate.

Black Hawk (1-2) will play its first Six Rivers East Conference game at Monticello today.
