Beloit Blades edge Pee Wee A team

MONROE - The Avalanche PeeWee A team lost a nail-biter 6-5 to the Beloit Blades A team on Saturday at SLICE.

The Blades were first on the scoreboard. The Avalanche answered with goals by Hayden Roth, Tessa Janecke and Alyssa Knauf. Earning assists were Knauf, Roth and Janecke. The Blades put three goals up in the second while Knauf went coast-to-coast for the lone Avalanche goal in the second period. The Blades added two goals in the third period. Roth scored a goal on an assist by Knauf. The Avalanche outshot the Blades 47-34.

On Sunday, the PeeWee A team knocked off the Stoughton Vikings PeeWee A 4-2. The Avalanche dominated the Vikings. Roth (assisted by Roman Bauer and Janecke) was first to find the back of the net with 1 second to go in the first period. On a power play, Alvin Bulhozer scored a goal on assists by Roth and Janecke. With 45 seconds left in the second period, Knauf put one in on a passes by Janecke (playmaker) and Roman Bauer. Janecke added the last Avalanche goal. The Avalanche outshot Stoughton 30-15.



Bantam A

The Avalanche Bantam A team hosted the Patriots Bantam A team and won 3-1 Saturday. Cade Janecke scored a goal on assists by Roman Bauer and Travis Edmunds to open the game. Luke Kuberski lit the lamp on passes from Cade Janecke and Broc Kuberski. With 30 seconds left in the second period, Roth was on a break to score but was tripped by a Patriots player. Roth lined up for a penalty shot from center ice. He made a move as he calculated a precise top shelf shot and scored for the Avalanche. Goaltender Heath Bear recorded 28 saves.



Squirt A

The Squirt A team hosted Patriots B at SLICE on Saturday and the teams played to a scoreless tie. It was a competitive back-and-forth game. Miles Gordon was on fire, saving all pucks in his direction.



This weekend the Avalanche Squirt A and B, PeeWee A, and Bantam A and B teams head to playoffs.
