BELLEVILLE - In the Wisconsin 69 rivalry, Belleville beat New Glarus Thursday 25-18, 25-23, 18-25, 25-21.
Belleville's Liz Erb had 12 kills and four blocks. Teammate Alli Kowalski notched 17 assists and five aces. Maddy Knox added 17 digs and Lauren O'Connor also had four aces.
Belleville coach Natalie Andersen said the key to winning the match was how the team played with absolute aggression.
"They wanted to beat their rival on their home court," Andersen said.
New Glarus was led by senior Ashley Gould who had 12 kills. Senior teammate Breanne Krelkow had 25 assists and Ashley Clark had 23 digs. McKinley Righter had four blocks and Devon Boll added four aces for the Glarner Knights.
Monticello 3, Pecatonica 0
MONTICELLO - The Ponies stayed unbeaten in the Six Rivers East Conference, rolling to a 25-16, 25-12, 25-21 win over Pecatonica.
Monticello senior Alyssah Kubly had a match-high 13 kills and 12 digs. Senior teammate Paige Dilley had seven kills and 10 digs. Senior Jordan Garrison racked up 21 assists and Hallie Chicker had six of the Ponies' 16 total aces. Brecklyn Klosterman added three blocks.
Monticello (8-1, 5-0 Six Rivers East) was coming off a five-set win against Argyle.
"The tendency after a big match is you have a letdown," Monticello coach Scott Smice said. "Pec is better than their record. It's anyone's game until it's over."
Brodhead 3, Parkview 0
ORFORDVILLE - Brodhead junior Amber Pickel had 10 kills and 11 digs to power the cardinals to a 25-20, 25-14, 25-13 win over Parkview.
With the sweep, Brodhead improves to 4-0 in the Rock Valley South. The victory for Brodhead comes on the heels of the Cardinals beating Big Foot to snap their 56-match conference winning streak.
Brodhead junior Kylie Moe had a team-high 12 digs and senior Payton Wright had 25 assists.
Brodhead will play at Beloit Turner Tuesday, Sept. 23. Turne
Argyle 3, Black Hawk 1
SOUTH WAYNE - It took four sets, but Argyle rebounded from its first conference loss to defeat Black Hawk in four sets, 25-15, 25-20, 24-26, 25-17.
Black Hawk sophomore Sam Lovelace had nine kills. Senior teammate Alexis Warrell had 11 assists and sophomore Jordan Delzer added two blocks.
Monticello will host conference rival Barneveld Tuesday, Sept. 23.
