JUDA - The Panthers dug in their claws, but it was far too late in a 15-11 loss to Albany at home Saturday.
Starters Jake Ramos of Juda and Tyler Bauman of Albany failed to fool many of the batters they faced as the clubs combined for seven homers in the Six Rivers East contest.
Bauman withstood five innings to get the win and helped his own cause with a long ball. Senior Jordan Dean pitched in with his third dinger while Juda shortstop Steven West pounded two round-trippers and Tyler Lincoln, Aaron Duecker and Greg Lynch all hit home runs.
The Panthers jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first and scored four desperation runs in the ninth.
Albany scored five times in the fifth after putting up five in the second and four in the third.

Even the prospect of the area's most heated rivalry couldn't help the Cardinals challenge the Blue Devils in a doubleheader Saturday.
Evansville allowed just four hits in two five-inning ballgames. After the first rout, Evansville exploded for eight runs in first inning of the second.
