BARNEVELD - The Juda Panthers were just 20 seconds away from picking up its biggest win of the season, only to have Barneveld's Maddie Laube sweep that thought under the bleachers.

Laube connected on a 3-pointer with 20 seconds left in the game to give the Eagles a 46-45 lead on the Panthers. A late Barneveld free throw capped the scoring, as Juda lost 47-45 Saturday afternoon, cementing the Panthers as the third-place team in the Six Rivers East.

Juda led 20-18 at halftime and increased the lead to 36-32 headed into the fourth. Junior Ellen Kiser scored 10 of her 21 points in the third.

But Barneveld (13-7, 9-2), which hit eight 3-pointers total, stayed in the game and made the clutch shots when it counted.

Katlyn DeVoe added nine for the Panthers (16-5, 7-4).

Monticello 50, Argyle 45

ARGYLE - Becky Nelson scored a game-high 17 points and freshman teammate Marissa Berg added eight for the Ponies (6-11, 3-8).

Monticello was tied with Argyle at 6 after the first quarter, but the Ponies took a 23-18 lead at halftime.

The Orioles (3-18, 0-11) are winless in conference, but that didn't keep them from staying with Monticello late into the contest. Argyle cut its five-point halftime deficit to just three at 32-29 headed into the fourth quarter.

Danielle Treuthardt led the Orioles in scoring with 14 points.
