MONROE - The Monroe Avalanche Mite A team traveled to Beaver Dam for a three-game, round-robin tournament last weekend.
Monroe lost each of its games against Beaver Dam A, Arrowhead A, and Waunakee A, 7-3, 7-1, and 4-0, respectively. In the course of the tournament, Cade Janecke had two goals and two assists, and both Travis Edmunds and Heath Bear had goals. Payton Stauffacher manned the net and saved 52 shots, and had a 74 percent save ratio.
Mite B
The Monroe Avalanche Mite B team traveled to Beaver Dam for a tournament last weekend. Monroe played four games. They lost to Arrowhead U10 girls 3-2, Waupan B 4-1, Polar Caps B 8-2, and Beaver Dam B 6-1.
There were some bright spots for the B team. Both Payton Stauffacher and Tessa Janecke scored three goals each throughout the course of the tournament, and Kaiden Klitzke had 63 saves with a 75 percent save ratio.
