Argyle rolls; Pec escapes Juda

ARGYLE - The Argyle volleyball team clinched at least a share of the Six Rivers East Conference championship for the third straight year with a sweep of Albany on Thursday, 25-18, 25-15, 25-7.

Argyle (10-0 Six Rivers East) got clutch performances from several players. Morgan Nelson had a stunning 10 aces for Argyle. Teammate Ashley Bruehlman had 11 kills and four blocks, Kirsten Ostby dished out 19 assists, and Dorrisa Denure had three blocks.

Albany's Libby Beck had six kills and Sydney Bloedel added seven digs.



Pecatonica 3, Juda 2

BLANCHARDVILLE - Neither team wanted to give in, but in the end the Vikings closed Game 5 against the Panthers to win 20-25, 25-21, 25-22, 19-25, 17-15.

"It was a pretty even match," Juda coach Scott Anderson said. "They finished and made a few less mistakes in Game 5."

For Juda (8-10, 4-6 Six Rivers East), Erika Deucker had 14 kills, teammate MacKenzie Byrne finished with 34 assists, Zoe Rathsack blocked four shots and Hailey Kammerer ended the night with four aces and 24 digs.
